The award-winning Ultrix 12G Router provides a compact and powerful combination of routing, multi-viewers, audio processing, and control, and the 4.2 firmware release announced today during the Ross Live | 2020 Tech Talk adds even more flexibility to this powerful platform. This software release not only enables a new SFP-IO module, but it also contains Ultrisync-UHD and Ultricore-TLX licenses.

The new SFP-IO module is compatible with the Ultrix 5RU frames as well as the 1 and 2RU New Style frames, and delivers even more flexibility to customers by allowing for a greater variety of signal transport. In addition, the module is perfect for UHD environments in which cable distances need to be considered for large fiber deployments.
The UltriSync UHD software license now delivers 12G frame-syncs, which “float” inside the frame and allow our customers to assign them to inputs within the Ultrix chassis as required.
Finally, the latest firmware update unleashes a robust Ultricore-TLX license, which is a sophisticated Tie Line Control Manager that automatically manages routes from multiple frames. Available on the Ultricore BCS system, this optional license eliminates operators’ concern for system design since it seamlessly delivers sources from one frame to another without the need for multiple switches. The license can handle both SDI and IP video signals and best of all, the Ultricore-TLX license is easy to configure and can be monitored through Ross’ DashBoard interface.
Ultrix is the ultimate routing, multiviewer, and signal processing platform for studios, OB vans, and flypacks. As a software defined platform, customers realize significant cost, space, and power efficiencies with unparalleled flexibility and agility.
